Avatar animation providers
JABP GROUP PTY LTD · Production and development update · 6 October 2026
This notice describes the hosting used for speech-driven avatar animation. It supplements the Privacy Policy and is not a complete list of every service used by Synk.
What is processed
Synk sends generated character speech audio to a rented GPU worker to produce facial animation. This is the character’s spoken response, rather than a scan of your face or a direct feed of your microphone. Generated speech can repeat personal information from a conversation, so it must not be treated as anonymous.
The animation connection sends audio, timing and control messages. It does not send names, emails, session identifiers, prompts or transcripts as separate fields. The returned values describe the avatar’s facial animation. Hosting operators can still observe network and operational information.
Hosting providers and locations
| Provider | Purpose and location |
|---|---|
| DigitalOcean | Synk’s Engine processes session data and controls the animation connections on its Sydney, Australia server. |
| Vast.ai and the operators of its rented GPU hosts | Process generated speech and return animation. The existing shared baseline host is reported by Vast as in New Zealand. Existing overflow hosts are reported as in Australia. The RTX 5060 Ti standby and the additional RTX A5000 standby host are reported as in Australia and are available to production and development routing. |
The additional standby hosts are Vast host 309585, machine 52572 (RTX 5060 Ti), and the newly added host 78669, machine 26531 (RTX A5000). This production release adds both hosts to the eligible animation routing pool. They are used when capacity is needed; the existing shared baseline and overflow hosts remain eligible. Other services in the conversation and speech-generation path are described separately in the Privacy Policy.
These are provider-reported compute locations, not independent physical attestations or promises that all support, backup or administrator access stays in those countries. Synk’s current shared GPU route is not Australian-only.
Access, diagnostics and retention
The worker connection is private and encrypted, with a pinned host key. The application processes speech in memory and does not intentionally record speech audio or animation frames to its performance logs. This does not establish zero retention by the infrastructure provider.
Synk records technical performance information, including routing identifiers, concurrent stream counts, timing, errors and GPU startup events, on its Engine server. The new aggregate monitoring history is limited to seven days and 64 MiB, whichever is reached first. Detailed system logs have separate host-managed retention.
The underlying GPU operator’s legal identity, support-access countries, contractual coverage, infrastructure backups and deletion practices remain under verification. The Vast marketplace’s verification badge does not settle those questions. Contact us before using real personal or sensitive information in a workflow that requires specific residency or retention assurances.
Your choices and questions
Use fictional details in role-play. You can choose not to start a voice session, contact your organisation about training alternatives, or contact privacy@synkai.co about providers, access, correction or deletion. Acknowledging this notice does not waive your privacy rights or give blanket consent to unrelated processing.
